Phase 2: Speed and Visual Quality
Section titled “Phase 2: Speed and Visual Quality”Image Optimization
Section titled “Image Optimization”- WebP Format: Prioritize ‘.webp’, and use high-quality SVGs for logos/icons to prevent blurring.
- File Weights: Banners must be under 200 KB. Standard photos must be under 50 KB.
- Visual Check: Ensure images look sharp. They must not look blurry, stretched, or squished.
Google Lighthouse Testing
Section titled “Google Lighthouse Testing”- Mobile Score: Run Google PageSpeed Insights. The mobile performance score must be 80 or higher.
- Desktop Score: Run Google PageSpeed Insights. The desktop performance score must be 90 or higher.
- No Layout Shift: Ensure text and images do not jump or shift positions while the page loads.
Cross Browser Environment
Section titled “Cross Browser Environment”- Browser Rendering: Open the site in different browsers. Verify that layouts, fonts, and animations are consistent across all.
- Operating System Check: Verify that the site displays correctly on both macOS and Windows (specifically checking for scrollbar behavior and font smoothing).
